Good to have that extra room for dummy files and double data if you're having a drive with slow access times and data transfer. 
PS3's Oblivion is gonna be twice as big as the 360 version. What are they adding-  you ask? Well, nothing, they have to record the data twice cause otherwise you'd have to wait a second or two for the drive to access the data.
It's PS2 all over again - crappy, early version of disc drive. GTA3 on PS2 was three times bigger than the Xbox version. Was it better? No, but it sure was nice to have the room for dummy files and double data. 

What's a dummy file?
A dummy file is normally a large file that is added to an image to allow the disc to be read far quicker becuase it pushes all the other data towards the outer edge of the disc.

Check COD3 or Tony Hawk 8. How many differences have you noticed (besides no online in TH8, no voice chat in COD3, and choppy animation in both on PS3) ?

btw Kojima said the only reason they need more capacity is so they can incorporate more sounds into it....nothing to do with graphics

my bro got a PS3 and i got a 360...we both tend to play on the 360 more...not because PS3 is a bad console, but because right now the 360 has better games....even the cross-platform games offer better gameplay and graphics on the 360

btw i LOVE playing all my 360 games with the rumble effect.  lmao@playing madden without rumble using a piece of shit remote that weighs not even an ounce.  Sony made a HUGE deal about their "six axis" bullshit that they stoled from Nintendo but can you remind me what game actually utalizes that technology on the PS3 in an awesome way like the Wii does?

To be fair it's not meant to be the same technology as the Wii as its far less advanced than that. Game makers will find good ways to incorporate it into games, the free throws in NBA2K7 being a good early example of this, but its not meant to be the be all and end all of the controller.

The 360 and PS3 are pretty evenly matched, its all going to come down to personal preference on the exclusives for each system and being that I'm not a fan of first person shooters or american/pc style RPG's/Adventure games the PS3 was the better choice for me. For someone who is into those sort of games the 360 would be the best option. I don't really see why people feel the need to justify their purchase decision to everyone by bashing the other console, unless of course they are feeling insecure about whether or not they've wasted their money.
