R. Kelly Heading Back To 'Closet'; Ready For New Album
« on: January 26, 2007, 06:59:10 AM »
After helping his friend Fat Joe "Make It Rain" on the rapper's recent remix track, R. Kelly is trying to flood the airwaves in advance of his new album.

According to his representative, Kells has a tentative release date for his LP: the end of May. No other details about the project — including its name — have been released, except that there are plans to put out more chapters of his "Trapped in the Closet" series in the summer after the album is released.

Although Kelly and his record company are still deciding on the first single, the singer is holding fans over with a handful of new guest appearances and a fresh cut of his own.

Kelly recently shot a video for Fat Joe's "Make It Rain" remix in Miami with T.I., Lil Wayne, Baby, Rick Ross and newcomer Ace Mack. He also appears on the remix to Ciara's "Promise"; Young Jeezy's "Go Getta" (a video for that single was filmed last week in Atlanta); and Bow Wow's "I'm a Flirt." And that's not to mention "That's That Sh--," a Snoop Dogg track featuring Kelly that is still in rotation at many media outlets.

The Pied Piper also has a song of his own called "Don't Let Go," from the recently released soundtrack to the upcoming film "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls."

There are also talks of Kelly concert DVD coming out this year as well.

Is it wise to have R Kelly recording songs for a movie called Daddy's Little Girls? Did no one think that it might not be the brightest PR move for him or the film?

By the way, on the main page of the forum the title of this thread just came up as "R Kelly heading back to-". I genuinely thought it was going to say "court" when I opened it.

I think the trial is still pending. He's got good lawyers. He probably won't go to trial until he's 60.

And I swear to God, if that motherfucker puts out more of that Trapped In The Closet shit, my peoples will assassinate him. I enjoy his music, but that Closet shit was always wack.
