Greatest Hip Hop Talent Outside The West?
« on: October 24, 2001, 07:20:45 AM »
Who Do Yall Thinks The Greatest Outside The West?

I Think One Day, About 30 Years From Now, Somewhere They'll Be A Big Concert, And You'll Hear "Ladies And Gentleman, The Most Successful rap Act Of All Time, " And Then You'll Hear

"Tell 'Em Big Boi Did It"
Over The Speakers
LOL

Can't Nobody Outside The West Fade Outkast, I Don't Think.  I Was Listening To ATLiens Today, And As Far As Originality, And Concept, And Lyrics, Nobody Touches Them.  It's Just Too Dope.  They Speak REAL Too, No Fake Ass Wanna Be Gangsta Stuff.

Andre3000 -
"Got stopped at the mall the other day
Heard a call from the other way
that I just came from, some nigga was sayin somethin
talkin bout "Hey man, you remember me from school?" smoke some
Naw not really but he kept smilin like a clown
facial expression lookin silly
And he kept askin me, what kind of car you drive, I know you paid
I know y'all got buku of hoes from all them songs that y'all done made
And I replied that I had been goin through tha same thing that he had
True I got more fans than the average man but not enough loot to last me
to the end of the week, I live by the beat like you live check to check
If you don't move yo' foot then I don't eat, so we like neck to neck"

or
"I came into this world high as a bird
From second hand cocain powder
i know it sounds absurd
I never tooted but its in my veins
While the rest of the country bungies off bridges
Without no snap back
and bitches they say they need that
To shake they fannies in the ass clubs
they go the other route
turn each other out
burn each other out
where a bonified nigga like me
can't even get no back rub these days
ain't that bleak on they part
but let me hold it down
cause they shut you down
when you speak from your heart
now that's hard
while we rantin and ravin bout gats
nigga they made them gats
they got some shit that'll blow out our backs
from where they stay at"

That's Some Of The Greatest Stuff Ever, I Think.  I Think In Years To Come, People Will Realize Just How Talented They Are.

Or how Bout This:
"Storm bringing cats and dogs my catalog be the size of golf balls
Throw up your Daisy Dukes I'm Hazzard-ous to all you Boss Hoggs
And Roscoe P. Col' people, who could boost my locomotive
But enough of that everyone can rap unless they ain't supposed ta
I use my gift of gab to boast and brag in every rhyme I
compose won't y'all get sick of that, cause I know I do when I hear those
Flows that ain't hip-hop, you find that shit in the gift shop
But to each his own, my speech is gon', keep that shit up outta my zone
Long as you happy then I'm happy
Even if you just hate my fuckin guts go 'head and dap me
Cause I'm gon' dap you anyway and then go home and pray for yo' ass later
Cause we might need you in this war I'm wailin on you traitors
Like that..." - Dre

i'm gonna have to agree with ya on Outkast, ever since their first album they have been representin.  I personally like Atliens the best, its a cd you can play right through without skipping any tracks,  Aquemini also is off the heezy, its got a great variety with a lot of funky beats, and stankonia has some stand out tracks, and the rest are all ok. they are very unique with their rhymes, beats, and clothing, which is something the rap games needs right now with all of the bling bling rappers rapping only about their money, girls, cars, and the ice that they are carryin.  No disrespect to any of these rappers, i do like some of their beats and rhymes, but the game needs more creativity.  one can only handle so many songs or videos about all of these things.  now i realize a lot of the classic west coast rappers rap about mainly the same things, but they are a lot more creative with it, and their videos are more creative as well.  ( for example, snoop's "lay low" video)

A couple of months ago i'd of said Wu Tang. But i bin listenin to Onyx's 3 albums a lot recently and they actually very good. They got foundation, which is more than i can say for half the rappers out there. But also Talib and Mos are deep lyricist's. Red & Meth also off the hook tho!

Naz and Jig get too much Credit. They really ain't that special. They ain't released a revolutionary changin Cd. Like Dre/Snoop Or Wu. (not saying their the best) But cud think of a lot more rappers that are better than Naz or Jig.  No Hatin tho. Just think ya'll give them too much respect for what they worth!

Actually, I'd put Eminem as a better talent than Nas & Common.  I forgot about him cause he's associated wit Dre & the West a lot.
