Dru Down - Can You Feel Me

Been bumping this for the first time since I picked up a second-hand copy a year or so ago.

First impressions are pretty good... some of the production is excellent and Dru Down has a lot of flavor in an E-40 kinda, fucking-about-with-his-voice way (love the high-pitched sort of yelps that he does). There are some great Mobb-style tracks there.

"Baby Bubba" is a great track - it's a shame there aren't more songs on there with that fun kind of feel. The guy seems to be trying to be a bit too hard for sa lot of the tracks, pushing the gangsta image. For someone who calls himself "the illegitimate son of Bootsy", you'd think he'd want to party a bit more.

Still, a pretty good throwback CD, and it's always good to hear a couple of Luniz guest spots.

Any thoughts?

yes indeed a great album... but not a good as pimp of the year in my opinion

Don't know about that one - is it from before or after Can You Feel Me? I heard he kinda fell off after this.

To be honest I don't know a lot about him - first time I heard him was "Put The Lead On Ya" from Operation Stackola, which I loved.

And hey - as good as his songs are, the guy has shit hair. Let's just be real about that for a moment. That's a really bad haircut.

there was 2 versions of explicit game. i remember i had one with a different song at the begining. i think it was  available in Cali and then there was the version that came out nationaly with out that song. the song was called "weak moves" or something like that.

can u feel me was a pretty tyte album, And the luniz Operation stackola was dope too. thos albume are classics alot of dope shit was coming out from the bay at this time.

Dru Downs best album = CAN YOU FEEL ME , ONLY GOOD ALBUM !!!!!!!!


I FIRST HEARD DRU in 96 and i bumped that album all day , Can you feel me single was Dope , and MISTA BUSTA diss towards TOO SHORT CLASSIC SHIT !!!!!!!!!
