Well being French.... some "old " mcs or crew : check Solaar (early work), NTM, Assassin and the best crew lyricist of all time (any language taken in consideration) : IAM...  Minister Amer (2 1st lps), Kerry James.... I'm not a fan of the current french rap at all though ...

there are Ghetto in France but overall it's WAY less violent than America (as a Continent) or some European East countries... I mean the majority of the violence is car jacking, burning or getting robbed... people don't walk with guns or there is no gangs or mafias (outside in the South, regarding the fact Italy is very near...)
