So Kobe won it with JR Rider's East Bay Funk dunk? Weak.

Pretty sad that you didn't know about this by now, it's very famous...Kobe's is also way different than JR Rider's, it's more of a between the legs tomahawk. Easily a classic... Did you see any better dunks in the video? ::)

Actually they were all pretty weak. I never really cared much for professional sports until high school, so no, I never saw this. My dad works for Fox Sports Net so I hear plenty about sports as is without trying. So ::) back on you.

Weak? This is a classic dunk contest. The only one that has come close in the past decade was the one Vince Carter won...PeACe

A lot of dunks I saw on that video, aside from the one that need two basketballs, are pretty conventional. I want to see the ones I can't see in games.

The East Bay Funk dunk is one of the better dunks in that particular contest, but the reason I think its weak is because Kobe used it so soon after JR Rider created it and won the dunk contest himself. Its not that hard to be original with dunks.

I actually think the 2003 one was great, and the 05 was dope as hell too. Only reason the 03 isn't as talked about is because there was no starpower....but J Rich was coming up with some AMAZING dunks in that one.

Even with the 97 one, I don't think Kobe's dunks were anything special, and he's my favorite player easily. He's overrated as a dunk contest, or outside the game dunker, because of the fact that he's such an amazing player, and because he has great dunks in the game. But there are a lot of players, past n present, who are much better dunkers as far as creativity in contests go. Lebron definitely isn't one of them though...he wouldn't even be half of what Shawn Kemp was, and you'd think he's more athletic and has a better dunking size.

That still shows perfect timing, and just creativity period you know? I remember trying that on my court outside that went from seven to ten feet, and it took me forever to pull off the cart wheel and even grab the ball in the air...so to make the dunk after doin that is just some different ish.

Once again, it's not the East Bay Funk dunk, it's a tomahawk windmill between the legs. 2 completely different dunks. As for the dunks in the contest, I think there were some really great ones. Shit, look at the dunks Darvin Ham couldn't even pass the 1st round with...Those are conventional dunks? I don't think so...These are just some highlights from the classic contest...PeACe

Kobe doesn't usually try to do too much with his dunks, he just gets an extreme amount of air and usually dunks it in smooth and fluid motions. He's got a lot of signature dunks, like the one where he bends both his knees back (see my sig), or the baseline double-pump, the spread-eagle fly dunk, or even the 360s and the tomahawk jab dunks he does in the games. Point is, Kobe doesn't try to be flashy with his shit, but he's easily one of the best dunkers ever...PeACe
