Quote from: Bay Area Jat on March 01, 2007, 01:14:59 PMThe Steelers today released linebacker Joey Porter, their best overall defensive player in the 21st century whose play helped win them a Super Bowl 13 months ago.Porter was due a $1 million roster bonus by Tuesday and $4 million in salary in the final year of his contract. That, coupled with the fact he was a potential contract holdout this year, prompted the Steelers to release him.Porter has been their starting right outside linebacker since 2000, the year after they drafted him. +1 u beat me to all tha posts....Porter being released is one that has me shaking my head..

Give me a week to decide between the Broncos and the Chargers for the AFC West.By the way there's talk about Denver Pursuing Willis Migahee(spelling?). They're talking about trading a 3rd rounder and a starting linebacker for the guy.Fucking Broncos are making some serious moves this off-season.

Except I said he might be traded to the Niners. I'm guessing they couldn't get a good trade for the guy.

But Imo the Chargers are still better as long as they stay healthy. Im not sold on Cutler yet...
Wow Jake Plummer and Garcia in Tampa? Plummer WILL retire.
If the Raiders use the Clements scale, Jeff Garcia will be signed to a 5year, $150m contract tomorrow.Clements was a nice signing, assuming the contract isn't salary capprohibitive and assuming he doesn't fold under the pressure.Clements isn't one of the top 25 defensive players in the NFL, but he's thehighest paid.Michael Lewis was a nice signing too... he's a talented safety.Losing out on Adalius was huge though. He was the best free agent by farand would have gone a long way for the Whiners. The good news for theWhiners is, Joey Porter and Donnie Edwards are still around.
Damn the Rams getting Drew Bennett was huge too. Bennett, Bulger, Holt, Bruce, and Stven Jackson Now they need to upgrade there o-line which was AWFUL especially against the pass. And there defense could use some help too, quite a bit. But damn there weapons on offense are as good as any
