Don't blame the West because the Muslim world is so backwards and poor. Many countries have been colonialized and yet they are light years ahead of the Middle East in terms of civilization and development.

If you want to blame someone, look in the mirror. Blame your backwards culture and your religious extremism. Blame your intolerance towards different religious groups, your oppression of women, your violent tendencies, etc
