A coworker of mine who happens to be the biggest Prince fan told me this story about Dr. Dre.Apparently when Dre was in the World Class Wrecking Crew he was a really big Prince fan (which makes sense if you look at their album covers lol). The keyboard player for Prince was Dr. Fink. He wore white gloves on stage. Supposedly Dre got his whole steez from this Dr. Fink cat including his name.
i thought he was a real Doctor

One of the tapes I bought had an MC Ren freestyle on it over a Run DMC instrumental. Ren was nice back then, too. I still have those tapes.Shit, hook up that MC Ren freestyle. I don't care if it is a bad rip, that shit is vintage.

What I wanna know is who came first? Dr. Dre the legendary producer or Dr. Dre from Ed Lover and Dr. Dre?
cool,I got a lot old school shit on tape too. I used to record radio shows and yo mtv raps,I got loads of shit. I already posted some of it,but it seems dudes don't really care for that old shit. About Orginal Concept, they been around since at least 86-87. But you know that WCWC was already around before that,I used to break dance to that shit back then.
I checked my Ego Trip's Book Of Rap Lists (great book for researh about Hip Hop) Orginal Concept had a 12inch out in 86 called knowledge me b/w can u feel it (def jam). I can't remember that Rakim part with Pete Rock, was that at the Ed Lover & Dr.Dre show or Fab 5? I was browsing trough my tapes a week ago, looking for some other shit. Do you remember when Dr.Dre & Ed Lover clowned Dr.Dre & Snoop? They was all over Tim Dog's ass around that time.
