West Coast tracks you didn't expect to hear in the club

About a week ago I was out with a group of friends at this night club in Edinburgh, Scotland. I headed upstairs to the Hip-Hop floor to hear what tracks they were playing, mainly expecting to hear the same ol' same. Suddenly, of all the tracks, the DJ throws on Sly Boogy's "It's Nuthin'." I was completely shocked, since the track is hardly well known here and Sly's far from a household name - particularly where I'm from. If they were going to play some West Coast rap, I would have predicted the usual suspects: Dre, Snoop, 2pac, Ice Cube, and at a stretch Tha Dogg Pound. Hearing "It's Nothin" for a change had me totally hyped, and anticipating some Ras Kass or something. Alas, 'twas not to be since after that they went back to the standard tracks.

Anyone had any other experiences like this where you've heard a DJ spin a West Coast track that you totally didn't think would get club play?

Yeah, I guess it's a matter of location. Kurupt and Dre I would expect, but I wouldn't anticipate hearing the others a lot.

I was very surprised when I heard "Black Mercedes" at a club here in Germany. It made me very happy to hear it in a club.

i was in a club in belfast here and the DJ played two crooked i tracks (boom boom clap & cali boyz) i was standin der wif like  :o :o for about 5mins lol

Funny . . . I was home on a Friday listening b96.3 in Chicago and heard the dj mix in Boom Boom Clap.  Quite surprised

Any westcoast track, the clubs where i live hardly play any hip hop so hearing california or regulate is rare and a nice surprise.
