John Stockton

Most point gaurds will never get 14 assists in a game, further more average that amount in an entire season 2 years in a row.He wasn't much of a scorer, but he had an excellent FG%, assists per turnover ratio, and steals per 48 mintues for his career. To top that he was tops in assists per 48 minutes. He such a true PG. In a league of high scoring, coachs dream of having such a PG.

On top of that, JS has only missed 22 out of 1,526 games in his career.

I think that West was the better overall player but Stockton was the better PG..

As most polls are when people from different generations are compared...it's never fair to the older one, because no one has seen them play, and if so, it was just 2-3 games on ESPN classic. It's the opposite when you poll older people....most old cats would laugh hard at somebody saying Lebron or Dywane Wade are better than Dr. J and Oscar Robertson..but people our age would think that's true.

Since I have seen Jerry West play, and realize that his average would have been even higher if there was a three point line.....I'd say......
