Pretty much can't go wrong with anything by the Average White Band, Curtis Mayfield, and Sly and the Family Stone.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

+1 man for your signature too. How come everyone that's into alot of stuff and not just hip hop has horrible karma here? I'm straight on the haters. I never diss anyone, ever.

any kool and the gang album before jt taylor joined the band.  ya know shit like hollywood swinging summer madness chocolate buttermilk type shit.

funk inc. "chicken lickin" sort of jb's/kool and the gang copycat but "kool is back" if straight fiyah.  and then you got "hambones" right after that?  sheeeeeeit.

sly stone (forgot the name of it) but it's his first album.  the one with "underdog".  sampled to death (mama said knock you out) for a good reason

roy ayers ubiquity "red black and green".  i don't even need to write anything about this one.  if you don't own this one by now you are missing out on the good things in life.

The only reason most people have positive karma is because they hook up albums or porn, like me. Don't read too much into karma. Without the Beatles, rap would be impossible.

That's what I've observed as well with the exception of mods, site runners, d-nice and sikotic.

and it's always one person who gets at you consistently. like the cat who's been dissin' me all night. i'm coo.

You can't go wrong with any of the Parliament Funkadelic stuff, probably my favourite band(s).

If your into a bit of jazz as well check out Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters", that LP is funky as hell.
