I think that this poll shows just how amazing Hakeem is. I mean Mikan is unquestionalbly one of the greatest big men, and he was willing to take the court with black players in an era when the NBA was for No Blacks Allowed. Unlike Ruth, or other athelets in segrated sports, Mikan was honored to play against the Globetrotters, and even though the Lakers actually lost, take the court again. And the thing is, even after Mikan proved what a great person he was by playing blacks, and helping the sport intergrate to the black community (and we all know how that turned out... lol) I can honestly say, Hakeem is also a great guy, and it would be even hard to judge these guys on charactor. It's these types of players that you wish others in todays game would model themselves after, like an Hakeem, like a Mikan, because these players made the game better after they left it.
