All I did was took everyone's votes and tallied them up. It took 10+ hours to compile and to rank the way that I did.If I was to make my own list, it would be a whole lot different from that 100...there were actually 2-3 songs that I hadn't heard before. As I said in the thread...the top 25 is solid as hell, but after that, the list is a bit scattered and all else. I posted this list on West Coast Rydaz, and after 10-12 posts, EVERYONE who came in there was bashing the list, saying how terrible it was...but whenever people say "I would add this song over this one" it really just shows that everyone's opinions are COMPLETELY different....so even if you hate a song, it won't matter if most other fans seem to like it and vote for it.I made my list based on what songs had most impact, what is most recognizable by all rap fans and even fans outside of rap, songs that have been sampled and imitated the most, songs that still get played, etc. etc. However, many people just lists based on what songs they like the most, even though many of them are virtually unknown to the average rap fan.I have considered revising the list and making what I would think is a more accurate list, based on the criteria I just listed, and not just on my personal tastes...but I am 101% sure that I would still receive some backlash and people saying I am biased toward certain artists or even towards L.A., since there are many songs in the Bay that I am not as familiar with, or that I didn't feel were as classic as some people may think.
we should do a new list and see how much it changes
I re-upped all the folders, check the link for the original thread in the spot.http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=104900.0
