Good for Quik, not so good for us. Mainstream changes people. And this album won't be any different but a watered down mainstream record. Quik lost his creative control, Interscope's his boss, and he has to do what they say, use beats they want, use tracks they approve of.
Dubcnn just received exclusive news that The Fixxers have just signed a single deal with Interscope.
Quik's worst single in years gets him a deal with a major - WTF??OK, the track is quite catchy, but musically it's not touching anything Quik's done in the last 16 years.
only in the summer will we find out if this was a mistake or not....
I don't understand why the fuck you people give him a pass on this bullshit. That single that I heard was the WORST shit I've ever heard DJ Quik be associated with. This whole thing is on some real sellout shit. No way I'm buying this album. And this is NOT me hating. This is me holding a fucking ARTIST accountable for the music (or lackthereof) they release. If Quik is gonna drop music to cater to the one demographic that wack ass fucking Interscope will market towards then let them support his bullshit. This is some sad shit. Quik must be hella desperate.
