Most of them aren't weak, and he rarely comes weak...but for whatever reasons, he doesn't have many songs that just stand out like that.word, but i think that's subjective. i've heard some amazing crooked shit. he adds ALOT to DPG posse cuts (both his tracks on SIAM are fire)and I was really impressed with that song 'leave me alone'-TWhat a lot of people don't know about Crooked I's earliest beginnings, is that Big C-Style, the creator of DPGC, was the one who more or less brought Crooked I to the masses in the L.A. underground scene. After Virgin Records caught wind of the 19th St. compilation, they jumped on signing him right away. When that failed to materialize, Crooked & C-Style were shopping for another label, and Dr. Dre had heard that Crooked was a free agent at the time and wanted to sign him to Aftermath. Crooked was going to do it, but Dre told him that if Crook could wait about 6-8 months, he'd be more than happy to put him on, but during that time period, Dre was busy working with Eminem. Crooked couldn't wait that long though, because it wasn't paying to wait. He had to eat somehow, so not too long after that, Daz approached him about signing to DPG Records. Which then in turn led him to Death Row after that.It makes me wonder though how much better Crooked I could be today, had he waited those 6-8 months for Dre? That Dre magic always seems to never fail when it comes to new talent. And 1997-98 when Crooked was a free agent, he sure could've benefitted from Dre in a big way I think.
