A lot of rap artists been talking about Nas 'hip hop is dead' album title.

lol funny thing is, I think Nas does sufficiently elaborate on his point in the record. He does leave his ultimate conclusion somewhat vague and ambiguous but to an intentional extent. Furthermore, I see what Quik is saying and it's cool that he stated it in the way that it did. I think that's exactly the kind of conversation Nas wants to stimulate (what quik said, not the thread title)

Q: How ya'll feel about all this "hip-hop is dead" talk?

Quik: It's only one person that said that and he didn't elaborate on that with the album. If you listen to "Hip-Hop Is Dead" you still don't get his point. It's just the title "Hip-Hop Is Dead". I love Nas I just don't agree with that title, because that title is a generalization in his perspective. I don't believe that about hip-hop, matter of fact if hip-hop is dead it was dead when the greats died like Pac, Big, who were actually fuckin geniuses. They functioned independently of each other you can tell that by their eyes. I say that because when they died it was kind of over with for everybody
