Snoop says they are both freestyles in the "Welcome 2 Deathrow Album"

He says Dre just put the beat down and He just fooled around on the mic... now I had heard that Tha Shiznit was a freestyle, but this is the first time Snoop said it was...He also talks about "Who Am I" and how before recording on that day, they heard the George Clinton song "Atomic Dog" on the radio and Snoop said "we should sample that" and Dre was like "aiight" ... classic record...

I kinda suspected G'z and Hustlaz was a freestyle when he said "So let me just play" in the opening verse...Anyway the shit is classic...

I always knew the shiznit was a freestyle. Gz and hustlers sounds like one but I never thought about it like that.

I ALREADY knew that... since 1998. I'm serious. I read that while I was in Paris in an interview DR DRE did for a French magazine back when he was workin' on 2001. He said Snoop got in the studio, plugged the mic and ripped those joints IN ONE TAKE!!!!!!!!! Both "Shiznit" and "Gz And Hustlas"... When I tell u guys that Snoop will never be the same, y'all see now? See what he was capable of doing back in 1993???? That's STILL my boy though...

i knew Shiznit was but Gz & Hustlaz too??? FUUUUUUUUCK THAT'S INCREDIBLE.it's not even so much that snoops rhymes were tight (snoops lyrics back thens suck compare to later efforts,his style is what made him doper back then)but there was so many consecutive layered rhymes and of course he delivered it so well...Gz and Hustlaz is probably my fave Snoop solo track too...damn....i didn't know thta...that's crazy as fuck...damn what happened to that boy...he's still dope but that was just another level...peace-Tanjint

Get Tha DVD... snoop was like, we had no concept for the Album, I just wanted it to be called Doggystyle and I wrote some lyrics with Daz, but we had nothing really going... then Dre made these two beats... I just went in to sound booth and started spitting for fun... one take,thats all... it was so tight we called Dre said it was Tha Shit... I said hell yea, That was Tha Shiznit..... then we made it the title.

For Gz and Hustlas I just went back in the booth and spit... nothing serious, i just put in my effort and we had another song... thats when things started speeding up and we decided we better get to writing... Daz helped me with Murder Was The Case and he was like Snoop, write your rhyme like your talking to the Devil, no one nice, just the Devil, think dark and scary... Daz then told dre to put down a scary beat and we had ourselves Murder Was The Case...
