Nice, FINALLY the "Swallow Me" questions... that's my favorite Quik beat ever, been waiting for these questions for years!!!! THANKS

For the rest, I don't understand Quik anymore.. he was like my idol but now he's a changed man, keep your "minimalistic production" for your South audience, I go with the Funk!

any chance of an upload of "Shallow Me" never heard it, but loved "One on One"

Here it is, the guitar is inspired by the one in "If U Stay Ready".

He told me AMG had to play him that "Can U Werk Wit Dat" beat for 3 weeks straight until he finally got into it, but that now he realizes that fighting against it isn't the solution... He said he "wants to make music that his daughter can dance to."

I KNEW IT!!! I knew it was an AMG idea, it had to be... ok we have to accept this period but I bet Quik will come back to his roots in the next years, I hope.

--Dang..am pretty upset about this..
But it will take sum time before i really get into the track...just d same way as Quik!!

I'm glad you guys liked the interview, it got cut short so I didn't get to ask a lot of the questions I was planning to, but it still turned out well.

Damn homie, didn't realise that was you! Plus one, playa ;D

I thought it was a great interview - hearing Quik talk about the actual process of making jusic is always a pleasure, because you can tell how passionate the guy is. Whenever he talks about the business process etc, you hear his anger and frustration. But when he discusses straight up making tracks, he sounds animated.

Great shit, still can't wait for the album.

Dubcnn: Wow. Alright, there’s a lot of unreleased tracks that we’ve heard on the Internet and all that, like from back in the day or whatever, have you ever thought of putting that up online like on Myspace, you could put it up on your Myspace and sell them, or something like that, because everyone really wants to hear that kind of stuff.

Quik: If they’re unreleased, it means that they weren’t good enough for primetime back then, and it probably won’t be now. Like, when people raid the vaults and get records out, they still need to use discretion because those records might not be commercially viable. You know, you still wanna entertain your crowd. I don’t wanna play demos for my audience, they expect more than that. For me at least.

this is a shame!

Props for the interview.  Ya'll are spoiling us here...I was like, nah surely this ain't a new Quik interview already!  Mad props.

But yeah, I'm just not looking forward to hearing this album at all.  Like I've said since the news dropped about The Fixxxers, Quik droppin the DJ, and that lead single, this is clearly them completely compromising everything they've ever made to try and reach the Interscope / Mtv / BET crowd.  Good for them if they get paid, but I won't be coppin.  You guys realize though that if they do have any kind of success w/ this album that this is the type of music that Quik is gonna continue to do right?  But I don't think it's really gonna matter, I don't see this album making much noise anyway, and we'll be back here in a year or so w/ Quik saying how Interscope completely fucked up the album and shit.

IMO, Quik should stay indie, make the music that he truly loves - not some shit that everybody else tells him is hot.  If he stay true to himself his core fanbase would be pleased and continue to support him.  Completely switching your style to flavor of the week shit and signing to Interscope isn't the answer.

Decent interview,

Can't really say I'm looking forward to this new project, mainly due to the involvement of AMG...He's alright on a couple of features, but an entire album  :-\....

I can see what you guys are saying about the new sound of the album, but don't count it out.  Quik was extremely excited about this project, I could tell he really thinks this is gonna be some next level shit.  The way he was talking about it got me fucking hyped, and there's no reason to think this album is gonna suck until we hear it.  I think its gonna blow everyone away personally.

u gotta think about it, they aint get picked up by the biggest label Interscope for nothing. interscope must've heard something really crazy that made them have to release that album... so im looking forward to it.
