Are These Dre Projects Dead ??  READ
« on: September 28, 2001, 07:01:37 AM »
Here's some news from hophipsite.com (official) about Dre/Timbaland and other Dre projects that may have lost life...

Timbaland has been talking about a collaborative album with Dr. Dre on MTV. While it sounds like a dream come true, we can probably add this to the list of projects Dr. Dre is working on that will seemingly never see the light of day. The list includes Dr. Dre/Ice Cube "Helath sKeltah", King Tee "Thy Kingdom Come", Rakim "Oh My God", Hittman's album, Truth Hurts album, N.W.A. reunion album, not to mention all of the vaulted Last Emperor and Eve tracks from the early days of Aftermath. What's the deal, Dre? We know your a perfectionist, but we are all getting tired of promised albums that nver come out..... With that, let me pass it to Matt... Peace. - Pizzo

Rakim?  Truth?  I'm startin to except Hittman & N.W.A. but not these two NOW!  Pizzo is pretty reliable but I hope he's wrong here.

ok.. well on the official tip we definitely know that NWA aint happenin (anytime soon anyways)

what'll probably end up happening is Dre&Timbaland will knock up a few tracks and see how it goes.. if they're a good team then they'll do more.

i expect Rakim to drop - eventually. i'm not sure about hittman.. there's laying low.. and there's being invisible.. he can't rep 2001 forever.. its 2 years old man.

if neither hittman or rakim are on 'the wash' stdk.. we oughta start worrying.. i expect we'll hear the tracklist, or even get a rip of it pretty soon.

Maybe if Ra isn't on "The Wash" then Dre must be saving him for a surprise on "Oh My God."

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

More from the DaveyD newsletter (www.daveyd.com)

"Speaking of Dre.  He and producer Timbaland are supposed to be hooking
up to do an album called Chairman of the Boards.  Both of them will
use artists from their respective labels to sing and rap.  I wonder if
the anti-Bin Laden song will be featured on there."

First off "Helta Skelta" woulda happened, but Dre was stuck in jail during the time he was supposed to work on it...

Second "Thy Kingdome Come" wasn't released only because King T said fuck it, and left Aftermath, because he felt Dre wasn't liking him on Tha Math that much...

Third, Who the fuck said anything about Rakim or The Truth not coming out? They are putting the finishing touches as we speak, and they'll be released at the begining of 2002

Fourth, Hittman will still be released, but the problem is Dre put it on hold, because he wanted to release Rakim first, so it'll still come out, but not as soon as we expected

Fifth, NWA aint happening anytime soon, not because of Dre, because Ice Cube wants to do movies...

sixth, the Eve tracks weren't released cuz Eve left the lable...

None of these are completely Dre's fault...He just has a lot of shit he works on all at once...It aint his fault people give him problems...

No. Dre saw the album was getting a weak response from critics and scrapped it last-minute. King T had nothing to do with it as far as i know.

but i agree with the other stuff you said.

Looks like Dre WILL NOT be on Mack 10's "Bangin & Ballin."  On the latest add in the new XXL, the release date is for November 13th and it says produced by Mannie Fresh.  Dre's name is no longer on the add next to Mannie's name...THANK GOD.
