i declare Dj quik's new album classic
« on: September 25, 2001, 10:09:47 PM »
that's right , i've been annalysing dj quik's work as of late....

all his production have been some of the industries best probably the 4th or 5th best only behind

dre
timbo
alchemist &
automator's

recent work....his mic skills are as sharp as they were on Quik is the Name and after listening to Put It On Me for the millionth time on my computer i was like hey quik's mic skills arn't totally whack any more (i though they were on his last 2 in MY opinion)

then i hear that dre's going to be Executive producing this shit

so i DECLARE that this will definatly be a classic and i will expect nothing less from him....

.....i'll probably be wrong and it'll be Restless all over again but i at the very LEAST expect a 4 mic album from him this time

Quik is my favorite artist out there right now, both rapping and producing.

i dont understand people who think he is a bad rapper, i mean to be honest he could serve snoop on the mic right now and he easily came as good as Kurupt on Cant Go Wrong. he has improved every album lyrically.

and with Quik, he can pull a classic album album out of his ass. i would consider 3 of his 5 albums classic (quik is the name, safe & sound, rhythmalism). Balance had a few bad tracks but on the whole was incredible.

so yea i'll be expecting a classic album too, and i know it will be WITH or WITHOUT Dr Dre looking over his shoulder.

I always loved Quik's rhymes, his voice makes them extra tight over his own beat.

Rhythmalism is a classic..but his last album was mediocre at best.  I think his best days are gone.  (Put It on Me is hot..but hes spittin over a Dre beat so I dont know if that counts)

i dont think his best days are over, he proved that he can still rhyme, he been doin this shit for 10 years and he's still on top rhyming & production wise, look at Put It On Me or cant go wrong, and the beat of cant go wrong is amazing
