Bilal's Album is amazing
« on: September 22, 2001, 03:22:48 PM »
For real. I copped this album today and all I can say is "DAMN!".

I've been buying more R&B albums than rap as of late.

Me 2. Besides very few releases, Rap's been kinda stagnant as far as whole albums. Bilal's shit is the bomb, no question...

HELLA YEAH.

I bought Bilal's album @ the end of August, it's a great album.

My favorite songs:

"You Are"
"Sally"
"Love It"
"All That I Am"
"Soul Sista"
"Fast Lane"
"Sometimes"

Sikotic, what is your fav joint so far?

My 3 favorites are:

1. Soul Sista (Raphael Saddiq is working his way up as one my favorite producers)
2. For You
3. Fast Lane (nice Dre beat)

The whole album is crackalackin'. There is honestly no one completely dissapointing song. If y'all are into soulful R&B than this is the album to go cop.

Its not a classic but its definitely above average. EVen if the production was shit (which it ain't) the album would be good because of the soul in Bilal's voice.

This is the only cd I could bump out loud in class, but Bilal still cusses, lol.  I'd give this CD a 7.8/10.

I wish that "Fast Lane" Remix was like a bonus or some shit, with the new Dre/Jadakiss verses.  Bilal will prolly drop a single like he did for "Sould Sista" & "Love It."  I see them in the singles section all the time.  Also, I think "Sally" is a much better song than "Fast Lane"..."Sally" should've been the thrid single.

Fast Lane will sell more because it got not just Dre but Jadakiss, who is getting alot of praise for his work, so I think it was a good choice. Plus it was the single that finally got me to wise up and go buy the album.

Notice they put in a Dre verse so peeps would go buy the album, the original doesn't have a Dre verse.

Yeah, I was kinda pissed about the Dre verse not being on Fast Lane. Its still a great song though.
