Eastsidaz fall to #62
« on: September 20, 2001, 07:51:52 AM »
In what was nothing of a surprise the new Eastsidaz album considers to fall off the charts.  There were 11 new entrys in the top 50 this week.  Also-with Jay Z and Fabolous taking the 1 and 4 spots respectively, it's no surprise that the Eastsidaz album wouldnt push that many units.  What it boils down to is the Eastsidaz need a new single, but with this Goldie Loc leaving Dogghouse thing, who knows?  Oh-and Krayzie Bone is still in the top 100 (i think hes in the 80's..)...but still-it could be worse.

The Eastsidaz album is really dope.  And I cant understand the single for "ILuvIt" not taking off.  But the Eastsidaz havent completely fallen off.  The album came in at #4..but honestly what it boils down to is people love Snoop Dogg--Not Tray Dee and Goldie Loc.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Jake..same basic idea.  People buy Snoop Dogg..and there are only so many fans that are willing to buy an album of Snoop protoges unless they have a hot single thats caught on.

The last album did the same thing, and still went platinum.  They pushed it to platinum with the "Got Beef" single/video and promotional video we passed out at the record stores.

It's not like the album was a total flop...I'm pretty sure they have sold close to gold if they're not there already...They debuted at #4 with 116,000 copies which is pretty good...

dueces n trays is a guaranteed gold album, cuz it sold more than 100,000 first week, same thing like the last eastsidaz album, it sold 150,000 first week and was gold, but got beef blew the sales thru the roof, and EVENTUALLY it went platinum

techniec's prediction, if Cool is released as a single, same scenerio, dueces n trays will eventually hit platinum.
