I think Daz just records A LOT. Now that he’s putting out his own records he’s got no one to tell him to sit on a record or re-record this or scrap that or whatever. It kind of makes sense to me now after seeing all the unreleased shit from Death Row and hearing about how the So So Gangsta album was recorded three times over. It seems like people who manage Daz as an artist see how much music he makes and how it varies in consistency. They have him in the studio 24/7 then take a look at everything he records and just put out (what they feel is) the best shit.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a
BAD
thing to drop so many albums, I do however think Daz really needs to keep them sounding like they were worthy of being put out. By that I mean when an album comes out where there is poor mixing, or audio clipping (volume turned up too high) or there is no mastering work.. . to me that is the only time I really get disappointed because it just kills it. Like with the “Dogg Pound Gangsta LP” I mean… Daz what the fuck? That might have been your best album next to RAW or Retaliation but when you've got the recording engineer mixing or you save a buck by skipping the mastering it can never reach its full potential. If Daz spent the money to get those albums mixed by really talented people (think Quik mixing All Eyez on Me Daz production) and mastered by the best hip hop mastering engineers (think Brian Gardner who does all dre’s records) then 90% of Daz’s releases would get double the positive feedback because they would sound 10x better.

daz perhaps is no lyrical genius and he drops albums that are no classics cause there are always songs on it that dont fit the album or just suck
but he has an unique voice, and does not sound like any other rappers + in my opinion he is one of the best when it comes to delivery
for me daz is alright cause i ll take the best songs of every album he drops (tons of songs) and make compilations out of it
then you have one of the greatest west coast artists EVER
but if you are the guy that is listening to albums then you should stop listen if he bores you

I haven't bought a Daz album since 2000 and I can't imagine that changing anytime soon. He tries too hard to be mainstream and can't pull it off. He should stick to what he's good at.

Daz is what he is at this point...I think it's too late for him to even try to reinvent himself... The fact is that even if he really did try to change, half of you would be posting about how much he has SOLD OUT. I think the time he wasted beefin with Dre and to a lesser extent Snoop kind of hurt him in the long run but Daz will always have a core group of fans who will always expect the gangster/hustle type of rap...Sometimes his producing is still dope.

There's no Daz album that I don't like. There's some songs that I can't get into, but overall I like his LP's. It would be cool to hear him try to rap like he used to (like on Big Pimpin), but I got no problems.

yea i don't understand the hate on daz.. it's not like he's mainstream.. you basically have to FIND him to hate on him..
I think Daz style is great. I love hearing his flows when he is rapping on songs with more than 3 rappers. I thought he drop some of the better flows on "One Blood" remix and "Candy" recently, as well as the old stuff like Represent That DPG, and Bitches aint shit
