Nima, +1 for taking a stand on this as regards your principles, but it's more complicated than that as well.

In removing news/info/ordering details for this album(which, for the record, I have zero interest in) because Kurupt doesn't approve, you turn the site from an open forum into a PR outlet for whichever rapper you happen to talk to.

DubCNN and DubCC should be for the fans - if they can't trust these outlets to bring them honest, unbiased information about a release, then that's a shame.

Again, I don't want to criticise this decision - this is your site and, as I say, I have absolutely no interest in hearing this EP, so it doesn't really impact me either way. But to say the opinion of the recording artist is important enough to you to censor forum members makes it seem like this is their PR company rather than an open forum.

No offence at all man - keep doing it big.

I hear you, both of you (Inmate / Lord Funk). This kind of reminds me of when Warren G got pissed that dubcc people were bootlegging "In The Mid-Nite Hour" and that caused a big drama too. Like I said, if nothing was done about it and Kurupt never reached out, hey, no problem. But, by Kurupt personally reaching out to us, expressing his feelings about this record, I can see why he doesn't want people to get it.

Again, it's not about the person KURUPT. I feel that any artist that takes the time to come read our forums, and talk to dubcnn about it, and merely request that information about a bootleg record of songs that he never wanted to see out there, because they were from a different era that he doesn't represent anymore, it shouldn't be a problem to do him that favor. He's the recording artist of the songs after all.

It is what it is, I'll let this thread ride, I just removed ordering info from the original post, if anybody wants this bootleg THAT bad, they can find out how to get it for themselves...

I speak that real shit.  Am7 and Nino do oneoone.org and forthepeopleent.com.  Just go to Danny Boy's www.dbsoul.com and it says DESIGNED BY OneOOne, Nino did that in 2002.  Then go to Spiderloc.com and it also says DESIGNED BY OneOOne, Am7 does that site.  They both did all of the Death Row official sites; Crooked I, Spider, Gail Gotti, SKG, Eastwood, Mark Morrison, Danny Boy, Michelle, and Death Row official sites.  They both did Hoodstars.net.  For 8 years they have let the public think they hate each other (remember the beef DRHQ.com aka Am7 VS. Playa P aka Nino?), that was all a FRONT and its still a front to fool everyone.

Tell Kurupt so these clowns can get sued.

first im not involved in this release...and  2nd no i dont understand that ....jt released a game album, daz sold a kurupt album,  we are talking about bootlegs or albums with no direct involvement by the artist every day here on tha forum
and all of a sudden its a problem? because its kurupt your little dpg homeboy???

I knew you would say that.

Let me explain, no it has nothing to do with Kurupt being my "little dpg homeboy".

When JT sold a Game album, (which I don't think we even advertised), Game never hollered at us to let us know he was against that record. If he did, we wouldn't have advertised it (which we didn't anyway).

Same thing goes with Daz releasing a Kurupt album. At the end of the day, the opinion of the actual recording artist who's CD is being released matters the most to me, so if that artist does not agree with a record coming out, I'm not going to advertise it, or let it be advertised on dubcnn.

You feel me?

Nothing to do with the specific person Kurupt, or Death Row, or am7 or whoever, it's just by principle.

Look man, this thread is in NO way meant to sell. I got all respect for you Nima, and all the work you put in this site, but look man, we live in a free world. We should be allowed to discuss this album, and to post tracklists and/or covers. You can't just place restrictions on people like that. I know it is your forum (together with the other staff) but man, i am against the fact of you deleting threads.

I understand Kurupt don't want this to come out, but it is coming out anyways. And i don;t think nobody will buy any cd just cause they have read some info on a forum, which they can get on various other places as well. And besides that, nobody is gonna buy it anyways, cause nobody buys cd's, it's only getting bootlegged on internet probably anyways, and if the visitors of this forum will see a link with Kurupt - Against the Gran EP they will check it out anyways.

I don't mean to disrespect you, but i don't think deleting topics is the right thing to do. But i can see your point too, cause you need to run this site and have to deal with the rappers involved as well. It's all good to me, just my opinion. +1

I can see what Nima is saying. But artists need to realize our comments are not most of the time a reflection of Dubcnn. Maybe a disclaimer needs to be put on the site or explained to artists interested in doing business with the site. But it sounds like Kurupt almost is taking a stance that this project is being supported and endorsed by the Dub so to avoid any problems it is just easier to delete it. Whether it is right or wrong, Nima don't want to burn any bridges with people. But I would like artists to take comments and opinions for face value. ATG EP is not going to chart on soundscan or have Rap City calling Kurupt about lyrics he had in the past. It's like finding a "new" Biggie diss by 2pac.

I agree. Kurupt took his chance to say something about it and even though I think these people rip you off (8 tracks for that price is rediculous), I don't think you should delete links to pages where people can purchase that album. It's already on sale and it's not like these tracks aren't going to leak out. They will be discussed anyway, whether Kurupt likes it or not.

Hywyn, I don't know you, but I would like to know who told you that am7 did Hoodstars.net? I have never even spoken to am7 and I run that site, which by the way re-launches very soon without any help of am7. ::)

Agreed, since we have the whole Don Imus issue going about and the possibility of censorship on the way.

^^Why do you keep bringing this up, does it make you feel good naming these persons and telling who does what? Just let them be and enjoy the music.
