Anyone going to support Tha Fixxers?
« on: April 26, 2007, 01:00:58 PM »
I am almost scared to ask, as it seems like this group is going to get the Black Eyed Peas treatment if they make another single like the last one. Just wondering if anyone will check it out or pick it up when it drops. It is getting some spins on MTV and although the sound is not your typical Quik sound, it is cool to see him get some shine with AMG. But at what cost?

It'd be wrong not to check it out and give them a chance, i'll always give a single the benefit of the doubt if its weak...lets see what the album delivers...

That is my feelings on it also. You really can't judge a whole album off of 1 single, especially if you have not heard 1 through 20 or however many songs are on the album. I just kind of get a vibe that no one wants to give it a chance after hearing Can U Werk Wit Dat.

I like the single though. I didn't much when i first heard it but i let it grow on me. I really hate how people on here are comparing this to Laffy Taffy. The song actually has clever lines in it.

I will at the least check it out. Quik keeps talking about this new sound that will be on the album and how it is more of a digital record and when I think Quik, I think live instruments so I want to see how he handles this new equipment and what it will sound like.

Hell yeah. I have bought all the Quik's previous releases, except "the best of" albums. After all, I did like the new single but the statement about the album full of "feel good" music keeps me skeptical.

I'll wait for the next single to be released to make my decision. I kinda like Can U Werk Wit Dat though, i mean sure it's a different sound than Quik's usual and usually i don't like southern shit but i'd still rather listen to this than most other mainstream rap from the south.

i think if anyone earned the benefit of the doubt it's quik, i mean what the guys put out 4 or 5 banging albums over the last 10 years.

lets not start talking about if we are going to get the album.... after all in this day in age artists can have a hit single and not see the light of the day... u never know with a major like interscope, they may not liek the sound of the fixxers album and not push it right or just not even release it... i hope it doesnt happen but i'm jus sayin.... :P

for sure and i never judge a whole album off of 1 single....most of the time it sounds totally different then the rest of the album
