C Ronaldo.. amazing season, started it as public enemy #1 and took the league by storm.

that's a trick question, because what exactly are your standards for player of the year

-kobe bryant  is by far the best overall player scoring and defending , but a very poor leader
-players like steve nash, dirk nowitzki (reg season), shaq (after wade injury), tracy mc grady, gilbert arenas, tim duncan, baron davis, ben gordon, chancy billips, jason kidd, chris bosh, melo, and lebron were all superior leaders , however lack the overall skill of kobe

1. best player=kobe
2. best leader=Dirk/Nash (tie)
3. MVP (how the nba defines it) = Dirk

that's how i see it

I dunno what's more hilarious, the error you just made, or you saying Dirk is the best leader.

for the regular season he was. i'm sure if the mavs would have faced the clippers they would have made it all the way back to the finals and potentially took it. but that's niether here nor there. dirk was the definate leader of the year as far as i , and the 'kobe hating' media are concerned ;)

Dirk isn't capable of leading our Lakers to the playoffs...Kobe as a leader >>>>>>>>>>> Dirk as a leader. ;)

C. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Seedorf, Van Persie, Messi, Kaka and Drogba all played great.
