Two new singles have been released from 5.0's latest album "curtis", "staright to the bank" & "amusement park" both seem not to be written for the hip hop world, but stragegically mastered for a specific audience, which makes them both as weak as each other - amusement park is horrible song all around, the beat sounds unfinished, and the lyrics are just terrible "i hope you enjoy my amusement park, theres lots of activities and fun things to do" and the video directed by benny boom doesnt do benny any justice becuase it looks as if it was put togeather as quick as possible using the leftover props from the fairground scene on "grease" - i feel as if 50 cent thinks that songs going to be as freindly on the radio and t.v as "candyshop" was, but its simply not. Straight to the bank can i first start of by saying that there is no "dr dre" production in this it is all "ty fyffe", and you realy dont have to point out the flaws on this you just have to listen to it and everybody will agree, "ha ha ha, ha ha ha", yes thats right tony yayo the child molester takes all the energy of an already weak song. The beat is good, and i see alot of more mainstream features for ty fyffe. But the again it just seems to be manufactured so that white teen of america can put on they doo rag and and mime to the song infront of the mirror with a g-unit tee on. The lyrics arent nothing to talk about and over all it doesnt qualify as any of the best singles of 2007 so far. The video for this again is the same old boring scenes, l"ook at me white teens of america im a real gangster" video. It's a video that once you see once you dont want to watch it again, and i realy cant understand why he has signed a pontiac deal to put there cars in his videos, i cant remember the last time that was done in a video but it just proves that the music isnt what 50 cent is here to do, its just the things that come with it. Thats why you wont feel that these songs are related to hip hop there just hip pop, and again we all know who its aimed at.

Saying all of this the irony of the matter is that 50 hasnt released a better song then any of the people he's recently been "beefing with" i.e Fat Joe - Make it rain, Nas - Hip Hop is dead etc. But the most astonishing ascpect is that you would of thought he would of come with a better track then compton native rapper "the game's" one blood - but he didnt - and the one blood video itself was purposely low budget but there couldnt be a better video made for it. But amusement parks low budget just looks exactly that low budget. I hope you notice that i didnt talk about "fully loaded clip" becuase it doesnt deserve a thing said about it.

I mean...I wouldn't say that. I would definitely say that both are aimed at being commercial....but "Amusement Park" might not even see any time inside of 18+ or 21+ black clubs. I could see it at the mixed clubs, but it sounds too corny for our crowd to really bump it like that. Make it rain was major in the clubs, and it brought out the idiot in all the fake ballers, such as Pac Man Jones, who wanted to throw their money in the air just because the song told them to. I would say that Fat Joe's song with Ashanti back in 2001-2002 was very Hip Hop....but Make it rain wasn't at that same, "let me just manufacture a pop hit for the charts" level. I do agree that Fat Joe is trying VERY hard to appeal to the south tho.

U do realize that Joe has always relied on the man underneath him to write his lyrics? That explains why his lyrics got so bad after Pun passed.

First thing, you could've wrote that with less bias and left out the bs. Second thing, 50 Cent is expected to sell millions of albums, the record exects, Dre, want him to put out radio friendly singles. Whether The Game is a better rapper then 50 Cent, can't be judged by comparing singles. 50 Cent has a job to do, sell albums, and the best way to do that? Catchy, mainstream, radio friendly singles. And don't think Dr.Dre is the most amazing producer on the planet. The Straight to tha Bank beat is one of the best beats I've heard this year. Dre could've easily produced it. I also like the video. Whens the last time you went, "Damn, thats a great video!" Probably 5 or 6 years ago, because most videos aren't very good. Amusement park does suck though. And don't be dissing 50's lyrics will praising Game's. Game got some of the worst lyrics in the business.

The music business goal is to make money. Period. Just like the TV business goal is to get ratings to get advertisers. The goal is money.

I like Fat Joe but I just think he caters too much to the South right now. Even if he has southern artists on his album, he will make a track catered to that sound. He is going with what he feels like people want to hear from him instead of making that grimey NY hip hop he is known for. Make your own sound and makes others conform to it.
