Manchester Utd has signed Sporting Lisbon winger Nani & FC Porto Midfielder Anderson.

I am portuguese so I have watched alot of these guys, and Man Utd made 2 AMAZING deals over here. Nani is amazing, and will make a wonderful pair with Ronaldo on the wings.

FC Porto being my fav. team, this one kind of hurt, but it's no suprise that this brazilian intl. is no longer with us. He's been called the next ronaldinho on multiple occasions. I'm glad these 2 went to Man Utd, rather them then any other club in the world, since I already like them because of Ronaldo

Big deals for United, looks like they are going for another period of dominance. It will be interesting to see how Chelsea (and Liverpool with their inflated coffers) respond to this.

Nani & Anderson are superb players,  the only problem is that Anderson seems to suffer a lot with injuries recently and no doubt Man Utd will be hoping that he doesn't suffer too much next season

2 potentially great signings from Man Utd and they are certainly splashing the cash at the moment, and with these players added to the squad plus if they can get Torres or Huntelaar they will be awesome to watch next season

At the moment? They've been doing it for years. Everyone talks about Chelsea "buying the league" and whatever but no-one ever thinks about.

Ferdinand 31m
Rooney 30m
Veron 28m
RVN 19m
Carrick 18.6m
Ronaldo 13m
Yorke 12.6m
Saha 12m
Stam 10.75m
Barthez 8m
Vidic 7.2m
Forlan 7m
Smith 7m
Heinze 6m
Evra 5.5m
Park 4m

Fair enough some of the players were bought almost a decade ago and some prices might not be exact but you get the picture, and the point.

Anyway back to the matter at hand, yeah great bit of business. 2 cracking players.

I know that they have spent a lot of money throughout the past and I never said that they never, I was only speaking about this early on in the close season, and what I meant is that after the takeover there was talk that SAF would be limited to the amount that he can spend at any one time, now with the signing of these 2 and Hargreaves plus the possible signing of Torres Man Utd could well be spending in excess of £50 million.

Now correct me if i'm wrong but have they spent more than this amount of money in recent seasons (large 2 or 3) at the one time and after the takeover from the Glazers and the debt that they put the club into, i'm sure that most Man Utd (and football fans in general) never expected to be spending in such a large way at one time again

It seems like the Glazers realise that they have to invest in a large way knowing that both Chelsea and Liverpool could no doubt invest heavily again this close season

No united havent spent this much in a while. The most we have done in a season before was when RVN and Veron joined for about 57 mil in total.

The difference between united and chelsea's spending and in fact any other team than chelsea is that they all function under financial constraints. Only chelsea could spend 300 mil in about 3 seasons which they did and not worry about the consequences. That 300 mil was actually more than what man united had spent in the 13 year history of the premiership up to that point. You then look at the fact man u in those years had spent more than anyone else shows how huge chelseas spending was. Maybe if chelsea is started to run like a business they wont be able to do that again, but with abramovich in charge id be surprised.

Im excited by these two players, though im expecting it will be similar to Ronaldo and we wont see the best from them for a few years. Its great news that the hargreaves deal is going through on july 1st.

On another note i just renewed my season ticket today  ;D
