LET ME CLEAR SOME SHIT UP
« on: August 31, 2001, 10:17:49 PM »
1.2pac wasn't the greatest because he was a tight lyricist. As a lyricist 2pac was very inconsistent BUT he was the greatest because You could always feel him in different ways because he said everything like he meant it,the fire in his raps, the emotion charisma and voice he employed is still unmatched, lyrically he could come very tight but he wasn't so great because of his lyrics. It was because You could FEEL him.
2.Snoop NEVER lost his 'flow' he lost the voice charisma and delivery that he had on doggystyle(he's getting it back but the point remains) he's always been on beat, but he didn't lose his "doggystyle flow" he lost his doggystyle charisma voice and delivery etc.
3.Everybody knows Dre isn't and wasn't a gangsta so you newbies don't have to point it out whenever he's mentioned to prove your knowledge,it don't take a genius and we know that.and we all know he's the greatest producer so it's not like we gotta mention it all the time.
4.It's impossible to compare The Chronic/Doggystyle and say "who's the greatest rapper?" succesfully,i think i summarized the doggystyle chronic relationship comparison best awhile back but we all think so,we all have our takes on it.Face it,we can't agree on it.And we all thin we know who the greatest is/was it just is pointless IMO to discuss such matters....
5.when referring to the upcoming g-funk producers on the west (Battlecat,Fred Wreck,Meech Wells,Scott Storch,Jelly Roll,Mel-man,) just refer to them as dogghouse and or aftermath's producers rather than list them every time....i'll clear more shit up soon LOL no offense to anyone it's all love, because i know 99.9% of people in here are all big hh-heads so i don't hate noone it's just those things and some other things are botherin me so don't attack me,it's all love i'm just puttin in my opinion...thank you for your time, and tune in next time LOL.peace-Tanjint

I agree with all of them... especially number 2... being the snoop fan I am... I've been screaming this for years, but people just like to bow down and say no... oh well... its still the same flow... not the same delivery.

2D  LYRICZ.....
IN FACT IT WAZ ORIGINAL AND PRETTY SHARP IN THA BEGININ..BUT IF SNOOP WOULD STAY WIT HIZ

I think thats what makes Pac one of the greats, because you could feel him. He expressed his emotions like others haven't before. He is the only artist that has got me emotional whether its sad, pissed off etc. Being a unbelievable lyracist is great and all but if the artists lyrics have no meaning whats the point?

The way Pac made a huge impact in such a short time makes him a contender to be one of the greatist of all time, I ain;t saying he is THE one and onlt but he is and was one of the greats.

yeah pac was a good lyracist...music wise...rap wise he was aright (like rhyming and stuff he was good not great but he was good) but that's what lyrics are suppose to be raw substance...which pac had so i get mad when ass hole backpackers say "pac wasn't a good lyracist".....maybe not in a rap scence but in a traditional scence YES HE WAS. he was GREAT poet too, my older cousin (42) is a poetry major and she's like all up into poetry and she read the Rose That Grew from the Concrete and was amazed.

but just becuase pac was the greatest (which he is  :) ) doesn't mean has to be THE BEST in every aspect of rap...he excelled in every aspect of rapping but wasn't the best in all of them....it's kinda like michael jordan....Jordan is the best HANDS DOWN b-baller to ever live...but he wasn't the best three point shooter so does that mean Reggie Miller and Oscar Robinson are better than jordan HEEEEELLL NOOOOOO, brent barry and a grip of other fools where better Free Throw shooters than jordan was doesn't make them better....there were better dunkers in the games history (jordan has more memorible ones but he's not the best dunker) but that doesn't mean those players were better...and the reason why is becuase all those artists are 1-sided meanwhile JORDAN was multi fascited...he could do it all and do it eficiantly ...just like pac

you got rappers that got better rhyming words than pac but almost all have monotone voice, flow and slim to no charisma

you know what i'm saying pac had lyrical substance ON LOCK, Captivation ON LOCK, charisma on Lock, energy, longevity, various subject matter, all around good record making...ON LOCK and every thing else was on a good level like his rhyming ability...it wasn't bad but it wasn't the best but again the jordan three point theory (padja stroyokavic would woop jordan in a 3 point shoot out...don't make him a better player)

Tanjint though i don't think you should be judging pac's lyrics quite yet on the account you havn't heard his best lyrical displays on his earlier albums and MATW, but you're right pac isn't the greatest for the way he rhymes his lyrics, becuase in that case Bob Marley isn't a Legand....Marley's lyric structure wasn't up there with dylan or even Jonathan davis and kirt Cobain's but his stuff's substance put him over that standard of being judged SOULY by your rhyming structure...like pac his substance pushed him over that " you have to be like rakim to be anygood" standard that ass hole backpackers have....Pac could rhyme lyrics GREAT alot of time but like i said he wasn't the best but like i said again his substance and overall performance on records puts him over as the best

I know what your sayin' Jake bout the whole Pac sit. I mean he is/was an all rounder, but he might not of been the best at every particular thing, like his rhyme style, but he out-shon that by his amazing lyrical talent. But then I thought his rhyme style was dope. I am a huge Pac fan, he is my all time favourire MC, & I do rate him as the greatest lyracist in Hip-Hop. I think what made/makes Pac's style so attractive is that he was/is straight up ORIGINAL & REAL, there is no other like him, there are some that r trying 2 b like him but there is no-one IMO that matches, or will ever match him.
Everything else that Tanjint said I pretty much agree wit 2 an extent  ;D

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

1. Tupac Wasnt & Isnt The Best Lyrical MC Out There. IMO He Is Joint Number 1 Alongside Big Pun. Both Are Dope Lyricist. As For Feeling Tupacs Music, I Think That Everyone Does.

2. Snoop Never Lost Flow, Sure He Went Weaker On Da Game Is 2 Be Told Not 2 Be Sold. But Still He Didnt Lose His Flow. I Think After Doggystyle People Expected So Much From Him.

3. No We ALL Dont Know Hes The Greatest Producer, & We Dont ALL Think He Is. Dr Dre Isnt Even In My Top 5 Producers, I Respect Him For Chronic. And For Him Not Been A Gangsta, I Think Most People Realise That.

4. Amen. Just Becauase A Few People Like Say Chronic Over Doggystyle, Doesnt Mean Chronic Is The Better Album. Its One Of Those Things Nobody Can Ever Answer Without Been Biaswed.

5. ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Explain This. I Have Not Once Seen A Member Of This Board Refer To Them ALL As To Come Across As Some Sort Of Hip Hop Head.

Well for the #5 it just happens alot that when somebody mentions fred wreck...they end up mentioning battlecat and then jellly roll...and etc etc because there's so many of those doggystyle aftermath producers and i frequently have seen people use them all in one sentence...it was just thinking out loud,my opinion...sorry...peace-Tanjint

Dats my whole philosophy rite there, If tha artist aint got big meanings behind their songs, then It aint worth listenin 2 more than a couple of times.........unless they're real tight party or feel good songs but other than dat if it aint got a big or hidden meaning behind tha song, then its goin in tha bottom of my cd drawer.......

Pac was a moody type of person, it showed up in his raps.  One minute he's bashing peeps from the east, the next minute he's throwing out joints like "Unconditional Love" and songs totally different.  Pac would react too quick and start to dis people like Dre & Biggie.  Pac was so emotional that his rapping style showed that.  I don't wanna go on cause some peeps might get pissed...some prolly already are.

LOL, I put my old ass cds dat I dont listen 2 in tha drawer....

Anyway tha reason pac had songs like hit em up then Uncoditional luv after dat, is not because he waz weird, It waz because he had differeent sides 2 him. Tha aggressive, Tha concious, and Tha reflective.......there isnt dat many artists dat are like dat any more.
