I lost my interest in it. I saw it in iTunes just yet and decided to skip it, to me it doesn't have much replay value. I loved the album when it came out though, but i don't feel the need to listen to it again. I think Ice Cube should have used other beats, there's definately some non-Westcoast beats on there that ruin it for me. Ice Cube = Westcoast OG so why use Scott Storch or Lil' Jon for your beats? He should have sticked with the Westcoast producers to give it that authentic sound to it, like Battlecat, DJ Muggs or QDIII. Lyrics are aight to me, nothing special though, he doesn't sound that hungry anymore, like a veteran looking back and thinking "been there done that".It's still not a bad album though, 3/5.
Yeah just stick with the people that made your shit classic in the past. Imo Ice Cube should set some standards in the industry and do an album with 1 or 2 producers only. Like having a consistent album with just 1 or 2 people behind the boards, that hasn't happened much lately.
Yeah, even though a QDIII or Bomb Squad produced album would be incredible too. Love Muggs style of producing though.
i thought it was a pretty solid album, with just a few skippers. More consistent then the war&peace vol.'s. And shouldn't be a suprise to you xander to see him using storch, PLENTY of westcoast rappers get beats from dude
