WASH developments, aaliyah, 5.1 update

whats up y'all. wasn't expecting to come back here til the middle of october, but with recent happenings i felt i owed to you guys to let you know first. first of all, i am physically and mentally exhausted. With the deadline for getting the wash soundtrack mixed approaching we are virtually working around the clock trying to get it ready. we were going to have it ready for a october 25 release date no matter what, even if we had to throw 2 or 3 hurried tracks on the soundtrack. this morning (at least i think it was, i dont know which end is up) word came down from Interscope that Lions Gate (which is releasing The Wash) had decided that they were going to push back the release date of the film. Right now its set for october 17th. that means the soundtrack will be pushed back to october 16th. i apologize for this but its out of our control. i was almost positive october 25th would be the date so right now i won't guarantee a october 16th date. while i am disapointed for you guys that it got pushed back i am very happy that we have a few more weeks. this way i can actually get some sleep and we can get the couple of tracks we probably would have not gotten on the album, on the album. a few extra weeks will definetly make this incredible soundtrack even better. The first single  "hard on the boulevard" should be heard sometime this month. making the video on mtv should also be aired in september. so that's a quick update. again, I'm sorry for the bad news but there's nothing i can do. this also means interscope may move back the truth album. and i dont know who came out with the news that kokane's album will be out in september, but i wouldn't put much stock in it.
in regards to the disappointing news i just gave you, please keep it in the proper perspective. a few more weeks won't make much difference. as you all know Aaliyah died last weekend. it was shocking to everyone around here and i was deeply saddened when i heard the news. in the music business you run into so many punks, bitches, jerks, backstabbers, cut throats and big ego's Aaliyah was a breathe of fresh air. A lot of people in this business seem cool from a far but when you meet them you quickly find out they are fake. Aaliyah was not. she was geniunely sweet, nice, a loving soul. she was talented, electric, and special. please keep her and her family in your prayers, as well as the other victims of the crash and their families. and do yourself a favor, log off the computer for a while and go experience life. and tell the people you love, that you love them the next time you see them. you never know when it will all be taken away. ill be back sometime this weekend to discuss a couple more developments. thanks for your understanding and you support. take care.

the sentence that reads " i was almost positive that october 25th would be the date....." should have said September 25th.  just to clarify October 16th is now the scheduled release date for The Wash soundtrack. but again, this is not guaranteed. peace.

wow thanks mellow that release date is actually a good thing becuase i won't have the money until around october anyways so that is good news to me about the push backs

Thanks for the info Mellow man.  If you are fucked you should try to get some days off.  But I no it must be hard for you.  To have such a busy schedule and still find time to talk to us is cool. U da man. Keep up all the good work.
