Real talk, it showed us DPG was adapting to the new state of hiphop, cause hiphop has grown (yes people the world doesn't stand still) but with Dogg Chit they went back in time, i am hoping for a new Cali Iz Active with hteir next album.

lol never, Dogg Chit is way better than Cali Iz Active. CIA just ain't quality music. It has a few dope tracks the rest ia average to wack. I don't hate Paul Wall because he is from the south, I hate him because I hate him. I hate his voice, his face and his music. Jazze Pha was dope back in the days, but nowadays he is the biggest fag in the game with all his "Ladies & Gentlemen" in every fuckin song. I hate him now. I like the cut with Diddy, it's def. one of the best songs on that album and the one David Banner is dope too.

This album was pretty disapointing. After that sick ass single they dropped, I was expecting better. Adapting to a new style of hip-hop? but when another artist does it, it's selling out? wonderful double standards people ::)

Sittin on 23s is not a fucking dogg pound song, it's like a cassidy song, or even eve. It's craccin all night is not a fucking dogg pound song either. Faknass Hoes (although I like david banner) is not a DPG song, but like a webbie or lil boosie song. Make Dat Pussy Pop is not a Kurupt & Daz song, it's a Mike Jones song.

Even some of the cuts with ppl i wanna see them working with sucked (*cough it's all hood cough*)

Cali Iz Active
Heavyweights
Keepin It Gangsta
Hard On A Hoe

^^^^only songs I really liked on the album. About 4-5 more avg. songs, and rest is wack

I was diggin' Cali Iz Active fa sho'... I don't understand why people hate on it so much either. I think that Jazze Pha joint should have been cut, but it's a decent album. I still bump "Cali Iz Active", "Kushn N' Pushn", "Sittin On 23z", "Slow Your Roll", "Keep It Gangsta" and a few others... solid album. NOT what we were expecting though... I think they may have tried to go TOO mainstream with this one and it just didn't work at all. However, I still bump it maybe once a month... to be honest I haven't bumped "Dogg Chit" in a hot minute.

I think that by taking the BEST tracks from "Cali Iz Active" and "Dogg Chit" there is a major classic! Shoot... even some tracks from "Dillinger & Gotti II"... You could literally make "Dogg Food 2" by combining these albums.

I said that, and i never claimed that any rapper has sold out. As a matter of fact i can only respect their choice to adapt to the main public and change to other styles, evolving their music or giving it a new sound. I don't apply doublestandards, if i did i would say Cali Iz Active is wack, it is far from wack though.

i didn't mean to point that at you. Just I hear alot of ppl saying "give them props for adapting to a new style" blah blah blah, and then when another artist does it, the gerneral consenus is that he sold out

CIA is a Dogg Pound album SNOOP thought the group should sound like and do. As to where Snoop could probably pull off those collabos, it sounds forced when DPG does it. And to keep it 100, other than a handful of tracks on there, Kurupt was weak as fuck on alot of those tracks. Snoop had some fire verses and Daz did at times also. It seemed to set up Snoop more for BCT then anything. Rage had the best verse on the album. To it's defense, if you add What The Fuck, Make It Happen, and Do What You Wanna and those other unreleased cuts and delete some of the weaker cuts it would have been alot better.

There were some good songs but overall I thought Kurupt was horrible on this project, which really took alot away from it since he's probably my favorite rapper. Again he wasn't horrible on every track but it seems the bad verses outnumbered the dope ones. Daz definately outshined him on this one imo

Like someone said before no replay value and that is because of...

1) The beats (save for the two Soopafly did and Swizz's "Sittin' on 23z) were trash and sounded like they were passed over by 100 different artists

2) The guest appearances were HORRIBLE.  I could care less if Diddy or Paul Wall was on a track as long as it's a hot song.....but their songs and the rest of the guest appearances not featuring Lady of Rage were trash

3) This was Snoop's project, not Daz and Kurupt's and because of that, Snoop wanted to "pop" up the sound of the album so that it could sell, but when you have the first two points, it's a tough sell. Trash is trash, no matter how you market it.

Dogg Chit was the better overall album hands down.
