« on: June 21, 2007, 12:59:00 AM »
Can ya'll recommend some real Hip Hop songs for me? Older songs (late 80s-early 90s). I'm lookin for more songs like "Cool Like That" by Diggble Planets or "93 Till Infinity" by Souls of Mischief.

Nine's 'Nine Livez' album, esp. 'Whatcha Want' and 'Any MC@. Amazing. never forget the golden era.

One of my favvorite old school albums is D.O.C.'s "No One Can Do It Better"

Some of Dre's best Ruthless productions, IMO, the DOC is a monster, damn it's a shame he wrecked his voice: Let The Bass Go, Portrait of a Masterpice, damn all the records on that album are classic.

Mos def get No One Can Do It Better, the album

If you liked Rik's post, then some Tribe is def for you.You can't go wrong with any of their first 4 albums.

If you want something a bit more rough from '93, check Akinyele's album "Vagina Diner", whole album is produced by Large Professor and bangs hard.On the other hand, I would understand if you don't like his voice, but guy's a real good MC

If you haven't, check also Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's first albums (92-94) straight classic shit. And if you liked them, be sure to check out Pete Rock's proteges InI and Deda.Their albums are from 95, but were shelved back then.PR released them in the 00's and they're GREAT.He outdoes himself on the production tip, and you have a display of dope raps (Deda) and crazy MCing (InI)

ED O.G. and the Bulldogs is something that you could check out too.Main Source' Breaking Atoms as well

If you want me to up something from all of those I mentioned, just tell me and I'll do it  8)
