For my heads that excercise

What do you prefer, cardio first then lifting or the other way around? Also, any tips on how to get the best results from doing curls on a bench would be appreciated.

I do a mile before and after. Before because it's good for stretching and warming up and afterwards because it burns more fat.

That's not a bad idea at all.

Cardio first, obviously...

Obviously not. If you've been doing cardio for 40 minutes straight you'll have much less power to do some lifting. Everyone in my gym lifts weights first, THEN does some cardio afterwards.

From what I know, you're supposed to warm up on cardio before lifting...

Why don't you do cardio and weight lifting different times throughout the day? I usually run, play basketball around noon or the morning. And at night I start lifting. Drink a lot of water.

Indeed, some cardio first, but only to warm up. Don't waste all your energy on doing cardio first. Then comes the weight lifting: you'll need your energy for this. Cardio afterwards is only to get rid of the remainder of your energy and work on your endurance. That's all common sense, really.

Yeah I went for about 2 miles before lifting yesterday, but to be honest I didn't feel any kind of burn when I did hit the weights. Today, I'm just gonna do push ups then lift, but I'ma run afterwards.
