Bone Thugs Need To Retire: Powerhouse Review
« on: June 24, 2007, 02:45:33 AM »
One of my employees couldn't go so she gave me her tickets for Powerhouse. I came in at the tail end of Lil Wayne and Birdman's performance. Cant speak on that at all. T.I. was the next set and he killed it! Dude was off the hook. He brought out the Shop Boyz and they did Party Like A Rockstar. Pretty dope. T.I. did You Dont Know Me, Im A Flirt, Bring Em Out, ASAP, Motivation, Rubberband Man, Bang, What You Know, Big Shit Poppin'... His set was real hot. Luda was next. His set was cool. He brought out Bobby Valentino and Chingy. Chingy was horrible. Just when I thought Chingy would be the worst, Bone Thugs came out. The crowd was not into their set at all. They brought out Felicia (who they still call New LOL). All around just boring and long dragging set. Bone was better off not even performing. Akon even came out, but the crowd was not feeling the set AT ALL! Game was the headliner and he really went hard. He brought out Dub C and Omar Cruz... they performed that Powerhouse track. Shit was dope... People were really feeling Omar Cruz. Dub and Game did that Voodoo song. Shit was cool. He had a bunch of guests. He brought out Daz & Kurupt. He did Wouldnt Get Far and Kanye popped up. He did his verse and he performed Cant Tell Me Nothing. To close the show he brought out Snoop Dogg. They did Gang Banging 101 and California Vacation. Shit was hot.

But I couldn't believe how bad Bone performed at this show. It was depressing! Layzie didn't even know the lyrics to some songs.

Great to hear that the crowd was feeling O Dot Cruz 8) Although I highly doubt it, I'm still wondering: did he have a chance to do any other verses/songs?

yeah i ended up getting access through DJ Reflex.. it was alright.. i think imma lay off hip hop shows for awhile. shits just boring now.I got in during the middle of TI's set right before he brought out shop boyz. TI was probably the best performance of the night in my opinion. (fucked up thing was the schedule, I dont know how they placed TI before Bone, thats just ridiculous) and then Luda brought out and made up with chingy.. SGV forgot to mention that Luda also brought out Fergie for Glamorous. and hten bone came out and that was just the wackest thing ive ever seen. felicia was absolutely teerrible. her voice was insanely bad and squeaky. haha. Game was alright in my opinion, but wasnt really the best set.. but it was cool that he brought out WC, Snoop and DPG. but i dunno..  I really didnt understand TI going on so early in the night, isnt he like the biggest selling rap artists right now??.. and bones some washed up 10year+ rappers..

Oh yeah I forgot Fergie came out. Her body is bangin... she just need to cover that face!!!! Word to Felicia being terrible. I still can't believe how bad Bone was... I mean DAMN! To top it off, they didnt do a majority of their hits. They tried doing new music, but it was working. Thats it for them, they need to retire for real!

"Powerhouse" - that sounded dope when I heard the studio recording. Now I wanna know:

1. Will you have a live video of the performance on DubCNN?
2. Is there an actual vinyl of "Powerhouse"? If I can prove to the Original Hip Hop Lyrics Archive that a hard copy of it exists, I can write up the lyrics.

no, i dont think we have a live video of the performance, unless SGV has one.. but i doubt it.

im sure theres some white label vinyls of Powerhouse circulating around. Doubt that they will actually release an official vinyl though, since it was basically just a song created for powerhouse.
