Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant reacts at a news conference in... (AP Photo/ Lee Jin-man)«1»LOS ANGELES—Although he didn't rescind his trade request, Kobe Bryant softened his stance somewhat Thursday night, saying he had apologized to Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak in person for the way he handled his upset feelings five weeks ago.
"I just felt like as a man, it was important for me to tell him, 'I'm sorry it came out that way,'" Bryant said at a lightly attended news conference at Loyola Marymount, where he spoke mainly about his camp for youngsters at the school this week.

Bryant said that while he could have called Kupchak, it was important he speak with him face-to-face.

"I was frustrated, I was venting," Bryant said.

When asked whether he still wanted out, Bryant replied: "I haven't thought about that in a long, long time. I've kind of stepped away from that. I've concentrated on Team USA. What I say is what I say. We'll just have to see where it goes."

Kobe's will is growing by the day and it's definitely strong enough to attract contention sooner than later. 8)

At the same time, Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O’Neal are looking at Kobe funny. Initially, they were pumped at the prospects of playing alongside such majesty. Now, I’m told, their deepest sympathy is with Shaq; how insufferable life must’ve been winning three straight titles.

And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

I have a feeling we're either getting Artest, JO, or KG via trade and Fisher, Mo Williams, or Blake via MLE...Honestly, I think the most likely scenerio  is that Indiana will finally give in and trade JO to us for Odom + Kwame + fillers. I also think Fisher will get our MLE...Leaving us with:

Derek Fisher
Kobe Bryant
Luke Walton
Jermaine O'Neal
Andrew Bynum

Shit like that remains a possibility. The options are open. You shouldn't keep a negative mind-state.

i really hope fisher ends up in LA again. it would definately adress the point guard needs, and would provide proven leadership , defense, and a bargain offensive threat.

do you really thing Fisher will be coming back?Dude his daughter is ill have no doubt in my mind that he will be taking care of his daughter instead of playing. The lakers should definently go after a pg before doing any major trades that way we will have a solid team if we dont trade Odom n Bynum.

What exactly happened to his daughter? Didn't she have a surgery during the Playoff?

^ I'm not 100% sure, but I believe she has a tumor between her eyes.

Didn't she remove it? Anyway, being a father myself, it's fucked up, man. I can't even immagine the pain he's feeling. I'm sure he doesn't really care about playing at the moment.

(but if things will get better, i hope he'll sign to L.A.)

Yea, but his contract was cancelled cuz he couldn't stay up in Utah since his family stays in LA...He needed to be up in LA with them. Doesn't mean he can't go to work, life goes on. He just wants to live in the same city as his daughter. I have a gut feeling that he will be playing for the Lakers again...PeACe

You know.. i consider Horry, Fisher and Fox like real heroes. So i couldn't be more happy if we sign him.
