Mike Dean ,Tanya Herron - Dillinger and Young Gotti

Dillinger and Young Gotti to me is a modern day dogg pound classic but i always feel that Mike Dean and Tanya Herron dont get the recognition they deserve for there work on the album.

Dean and Daz work so well it almost seems dean brings the best out of Daz. Even though the album is 6 years old it still sounds so crisp and not like anything about at the mo. Part of this is due to Dean who mixed it, the levels are correct and everything is so clear. I get the feeling if this production came from Dr Dre and got the coverage it deserves the mainstream media would be calling it a classic.

Tanya Herron is the final touch on the album, her vocals are on the majority of the tracks whether singing the hooks or just harmonising in the background. Im surprised she hasn't been more successful and reached the mainstream.

Of course the album wouldn't be what it is without daz and kurupt , its just a shame that the four of them haven't done another album together.

great post, this album to me is almost as good as Dogg Food was and considering there is no Snoop or Dre involvement it might be Daz and Kurupts greatest acheivement, Mike Dean was the perfect compliment to Daz and they made a dope combo and Tanya Herron was killing the vocals, the mixing and mastering on this thanks to Mike Dean is something that has been missing on recent DPG releases

where are they now?

that album is like KURUPTION said, a modern day Dogg Pound classic. they have yet to really impress me with their music since, unfortunately since they were my favourite rappers at one point...

mike dean does lots of production on rap a lot releases. The last i heard of tanya herron was on scarfaces album the fix, she was on the track with nas.

Mike Dean and Tanya Herron are/were married.

Mike Dean is one of the legends in the game of producing. He still is with Rap-A-Lot producing tracks, he has done alot of beats on the slew of Z-Ro projects they put out. Still does the majority of mixing and mastering of Rap-A-Lot albums also.

I know the last couple of major releases Z-Ro had Mike did some work on those. Z-Ro has so many albums out I do not remember which one exactly. He co produced Cutcha Up and Nothin To Roll With on Devin's new album so he still doin his thing.
