« on: August 01, 2007, 01:19:48 AM »

When you say R&B what you mean??Cuz even that it's a little ambiguous..

Hmm, this may not qualify as new, but you did say you only listen to Motown R&B...

If that's the case, I really recommend Faith Evans Bad Boy Records. Her first 2 are off the chain R&B, they're really up there with that 90's Mary J Blige material.

Sorry if that's not what you were looking for, but her first 2 albums are really superb, and highly underrated.

This year, Joe's new album "Ain't Nothin Like Me" was the shit.  You could also go with R. Kelly's new album, which wasn't much of an R&B album, and Ne-Yo's album was tight too.

Joe - Feel For You
Joe - You Should Know Me
Neyo - Make It Work
Neyo - Go On Girl
Neyo & Mary J Blige - Do You (Remix)

I dont now about that one, i remember reading a Vibe magazine along time ago where Kelly was taking shots at Avant, Donnell Jones and Joe for biting his style.... maybe R got over it, but I remember him, specifically naming those 3

Oh Yeah I recall that interview!!!
Kellz has made a few suggestion that a lot of R&B artist are making millions by biting his style, I don't know..but
Kellz turned singing into story Telling!
it was not just about words that rhyme,
he brought substance into it.!
Can't blame those guys, by recognizing it and running with it!..

But as far as Avant being related to Kellz, I'm not sure on it, but damn DUde sure does look like Kellz though!
But he is talented and a good Singer As Well!

props!
