HUNDREDS of Manchester City fans mobbed Carlos Tevez as he arrived at Eastlands today.

The Argentina striker penned a five-year contract after leaving rivals United last month.

And he has been hailed as a hero by City fans who flocked to see their new £25million star signing.

...GUTTED...

Traitor, said he wouldnt join liverpool as he didnt want to play for one of our rivals, then goes and joins city.

Real slap in the face to all the fans who supported him throughout his two years at united.

Yeah, made me question his intelligence lol

well he doesnt look the brightest in all honesty.

Y'all regret this move. Obviously van Gaals treatment led to the decision, as I don't see Inter as an improvment for him. Even so, it's about time Hoeneß retires as manager.

Shamrock Rovers 0 - 1 Real Madrid

Ronaldo shackled in debut
World-record signing fails to shine on first Real outing

Cristiano Ronaldo struggled to make any impact against Shamrock Rovers in his first appearance for Real Madrid as the Spanish giants sneaked a 1-0 pre-season friendly win.

The 2008 World Player of the Year made his debut for the Primera Liga runners-up in Dublin after his record-breaking move from Manchester United.

But the £80million man failed to shine as he came in for close attention from Rovers defenders and he was withdrawn at half-time.

Ronaldo's fellow summer arrival Karim Benzema proved the match winner as he struck the only goal of the game in the 87th minute.

Former United hero Ronaldo was given two chances to produce with a free-kick, but sent the first one well wide and the second into the wall.

The best scoring chance in the first half fell to the hosts as Sean O'Connor cut in from the right-hand side before sending a low shot just wide.

Real looked more dangerous after the break, with Rafael van der Vaart going close twice, the second with a spectacular overhead kick, and Benzema striking the post in the 56th minute.

Eventually, it was ex-Lyon ace Benzema who won it, latching on to a long ball to score the only goal three minutes from time.

Dortmund agrees transfer of striker Lucas Barrios

DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Borussia Dortmund agreed the transfer of Argentine striker Lucas Barrios from Chile first division side Colo Colo on Friday.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed the deal but said Barrios still needs to pass a medical.

Neither Dortmund nor Colo Colo disclosed any further details.

According to reports in Chile, Dortmund will pay $6 million for the 24-year-old forward, who played 66 matches for Colo Colo in two years, scoring 58 goals.

"I'm satisfied, but I do not want to talk much about this until I undergo the medical tests," Barrios told Radio Cooperativa in Santiago.
