Happy to see Meireles go to Chelsea. I know he's gonna do big there.

Was very happy to see Porto NOT sell players like Fernando, Alvaro, Hulk, Moutinho or Guarin. I wish we scooped up a striker though.

Weird and very disappointing to see Ricardo Carvalho's attitude today. After being told by Portuguese international coach Paulo Bento that he would NOT be starting this Friday's Euro '12 Qualifier game, he responded by throwing a fit, storming out of training camp and then retiring from international duty citing "disrespect." I was shocked by this. Very prima donna and selfish from a player who I always have thought to be a class act, a model footballer. He is the greatest Portuguese defender of all time, very sad to see his International career end like this with a black eye.

Looking forward to Champions League tomorrow. My Porto have a dangerous trap game with Shahktar in Portugal. Will feel the pressure to get 3 points at home; certainly not looking forward to traveling to Cyprus, Russia & Ukraine (catch 22; we avoided "big" clubs in our group but got terrible traveling time).

Shahktar are underrated and have an especially dangerous offense. Porto will be without there top CB Rolando and important creative midfielder Guarin due to suspension (I think it's stupid that Red Cards given in the Super Cup cause a suspension in Champions League but that's another topic). Will need to control the game in the midfield.
