if you ever get a chance, read "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller. Frank Miller is the guy who wrote Sin City and 300. He wrote and drew some amazing Batman shit, the best of which is "The Dark Knight Returns". It's about a 55 year old Batman coming out of retirement to finally kill his old villains and other dark dystopian shit. Miller draws the whole thing too, it's amazing.

I have never read anything about the original Batman, might have to check something about that out cause it sounds interesting.

Although I know that it has nothing to do with the original, I just absolutely love the Batman tv series from the 60s with Adam West and Burt Ward. Itīs so over the top it is great.

I wouldn't call Frank Miller's Batman the 'original' Batman BUT it is among the best incarnations of him. The original was by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. That stuff's cool too but Frank Miller's stuff is way more modern.

Bob Kane created Batman in like 1928 whereas Frank Miller wrote/drew Batman in like 1986.

The Dark Knight Returns can typically be purchased at any bookstore or even Virgin megastores in a softcover compilation(and of course comic book shops). Should be anywhere between 15 and 20 bucks. Don't sleep, it's the shiznit.
