The beats on BCT were boring. Okay, lets say Imagine was dope but Boss Life and Round The Way were zzzzzzzzzz. Snoop murdered all tracks though.
The track is great but its Snoop who made it, not the beat. Again a simple looped beat. Now somebody can say "but its a serious, dark track, thats why the beat should be simple." Where, there were times, when even the most serious, dark Dre beat, was very creative, with a lot of background elemetns. Sort of like what Timbaland\ Danja is doing now.
But Dre added alot of elements to Round Here. The piano keys, added bass. He made that song dark, which fit Snoop's style to a T. Simple additions to that loop but it changed the whole mood of the track.
Eminem pulled a Puffy with that track. He just jacked the whole thing including some of Dido's vocals.
Like I said Dre added alot to that track. It took me a while to pick up on them but the more I listened to it, the more I picked up on the elements he added to it. The vocals samples in the hook, the organs, etc.
