The East coast sounds very west these days
« on: September 05, 2007, 03:09:01 PM »
From 50 to Mimms and others it seems that the East has a definate Western feel. Fabolus first blew up on a west sounding piece. The one with Nate. It seems like the thing is to rap East style on a West beat. It just shows what they were really listening to back East in the 90's. Now is this good or bad for the West? Will people end up saying we're copying them by using our own style?

Are you saying the east is dead or the west?
50 sounded West as recently as "Straight to the bank" and "This is why I'm hot" by Mimms sounds like a generic Dre beat.

Yeah and the West sounds very Southern. Yet, we're still the odd Coast out. Its like a bad dream.
