Daz post part 2
« on: July 19, 2001, 05:28:50 PM »
When Daz left Death Row couldn't he get his own label from a major label like Dre.  He had a triple platnum record with kurupt and an individual gold album and produced classics on pac's album.

He aint mad. He wanted to go INDY coz he gets like $10 per cd compared to the crumps you get under a big lable. Daz is stackin heaps of money.

RAW sold quite a bit & DPG sold well too, plus JT & Daz & Soopafly cds, thats 5 cds out there each one he is making $10 each. Plus he has sold 250 Makaveli & Dilinger for $500 each so far.

Daz is stackin his money, maybe not as much as Dre or Snoop, but he gettin his

He aint mad

He ain't Makin' 10 Dollars A CD If It Ain't His CD (JT, DPG W/Kurupt, Soopafly)

PLUS, Read The Source Article.  They Ask Him Point Blank About It, And He Says He Couldn't Get Nobody To Sign Him.

yeah he made 8 dollars a cd from raw becuase of distribution nationally, when raw first came out it was 10 but it got cut to 8 becuase of distribution

then on the daz and jt albums  it was 3 or 4 and on dpg it was 2.50 i think becuase of the promotion

No actually. Daz had plenty of options. Daz could've stayed with the row, & plenty of other labels have offered him deals (including Ja Rules Murder Inc). Daz decided to go indy to stack his chips

But why? From a record executive's point of view.  The guy is a great producer and has sold alot of albums.  He is already a proven talent and has hardcore fans.  Universal signed Cash Money but they wont sign Daz?And he says that he making more money as an independent artist then a platnum artist on a major label.  Xzibit went platnum and hes probably living in a big mansion and has fancy cars because yo dont get paid just by sales.  If you go platnum it will create more oppertunities for you to make money.  touring, collborations, appearences, advertising.
