Is Game's career done?
« on: October 04, 2007, 07:16:04 AM »
I don't see any buzz for him anymore, and the only songs I hear on the radio is Hate it or Love It feat 50 Cent... his debut single... I never hear any songs from his 2nd album...

Is Game's career going downhill from now on?

Nah, I'd see your point if he had an album coming out but he doesn't. His second album was pretty successful (if i remember correctly) in terms of sales and also reviews. I think your jumping the gun.

He has no album out so u aint hearing nothing from him. I think he has a couple mixtapes coming soon. But trust me when he's about to drop something you'll definitely hear more from him cause it will time to start beefing or getting in trouble. You know for publicity.

nah... it appears the dude is just lying low for now while he takes care of his legal cases... which should give him fresh material to write about for the next album... also it's probably a good thing that he takes a longer break between the 2nd & 3rd release, imo... sometimes you gotta let people miss you after awhile instead of oversaturating yourself... there is no need to rush anything at this point since he's already proven that he's more than capable of making a good album... he's just gotta play that ol' demand > supply at this point... when people start asking for you and demanding new supply, then it's a go... but the trick for him in making a solid 3rd album is finding fresh content that hasn't already been touched upon in his previous 2 releases... that's tough to do... the dude has already reached a financial plateau where he can't really talk about being hungry and broke anymore... he's gotta expand his creative horizons and re-discover himself in the process... perhaps do some social commentary shit on wax and in action too, like giving back to charities that mean something to him... street gang initiatives, education, urban development, etc... since he's rich now, he can use his influence as leverage in a positive way... either way though, i'm sure Game will do Game... in the words of Kanye... "you can't tell him nothing"

co-sign, Game went plat last year and was the biggest selling west coast album along with Snoop's, he's not doing too bad for himself and I actually think if he kills his album cuts like he does his mixtape and guest spots he'd be a monster, his Anybody Killa verse was one of the best verses all year

Yeah, it's funny that everytime you go 2-3 months without hearing from someone, people wanna say they fell off...even after 2, 5, even 10 years strong in the game.

It's the same with most rappers and even worst with R&B stars...when Usher's out, you get tired as hell of him, and his album gets played out...so he lies low for 1-2 years, and some people may even say "damn he fell off"...but then he'll come back with a #1 single way too easy.

MTV did that "hottest rappers in the game" thing only 2 months ago, and they had Game as #3....so yeah, it's safe to say he's still around.

Done ? Hell no. Sure, his 2nd project didnt do shit compared to Doc commercial wise but it was well accepted by critics. Plus he's been killing every guest apperance since DA dropped, putting out some fly ass mixtapes. It looks like him getting kicked out of G-Unit/Aftermath was the best thing to happen, he went from your typical gangsta westcoast rapper to somebody who's really passionate about his work and all that pressure made him concentrate 100% on every track he makes.

And he has that advantage of not having any group or homeboys releasing albums, so he lay's low for about 2 years and then drops another album. That way he just can't oversaturate himself.

Hell, even I, who didnt think much of Game 1 year ago, is really looking forward to hearing new material.
