Meech Wells
« on: July 18, 2001, 11:15:38 AM »
hey whats goin on with meech wells? hes an awesome producer. he only did 2 tracks on Last Meal i think (Go Away, Issues). he didnt produce anything on the Kurupt or Bad Azz CD. Battlecat, Fredwreck, and Jellyroll are all very good, but i liked Meech a lot. does anyone know if he produced anything for the new Eastsidaz? if not, what happened to him?

Crazy.... I didnt know Mary Wells was his moms..

I got her greatest hits cd...

"You Beat Me To The Punch"
"Two Lovers"
"Your Old Stand By"
"What Love Has Joined Together"

Those are all tight songs if you're into that kinda music.

She also made that song "My Guy" which isnt one of my favorites but alot of you have probably heard that one...

Mary Wells, Great Singer.  She Had A Great Voice, And Sadly Died Of Throat Cancer About 5 Years Ago... Guys, This Old Stuff is In My BLOOD!

Her Biggest Hit Was "My Guy"

"Nothin' You Can Say Can Tear Me Away, From My Guy
Nothin' You Can Do, Cuz I'm Stuck Like Glue To My Guy...
He May Not Be A Famous Movie Star
But When It Comes To Bein' Happy... We Are...
There's Not A Man Today Who Could Take Me Away From My Guy"

I've Got About 3 Videos Of Performances From Her (She Frequented The Oldies Touring Scene Through The 80's And Early 90's) But Never Got To See Her Live.  Her Voice Was Always Just As Good Even When She Was In Her 50's... When I Heard She Passed Away, I Remember Thinkin' "Damn, That's Another Great Singer Gone"....

Yup, You Beat Me To The Punch, And 2 Lovers Are Great...

"I've Got 2 Lovers, And I Ain't Ashamed,
2 Lovers And I Love Them Both Tha Same...."

Her First Lover's A Nice Guy, Her Second Lover Makes Her Sad, By The End Of The Song, Their The Same Guy...

Man, Yall Are Making Me Sad Now, boo hoo, That Was One Of My Dad's Favorite Songs.
