The year was 1992 when a young rapper named Paperboy came up in the rap game and made a name for himself with a catchy hit called "Ditty". The song did its job and crossed over to the pop charts and earned him mainstream success. In 1993 he released the album "The Nine Yards" which contained 10 tracks, including the double platinum certified single "Ditty". Rhythm D produced the album which was certified gold the same year. But once the buzz died down, it got a little quiet around Paperboy and it seemed like he was unable to follow-up with a second hit. The Grammy nominated artist released two additional albums on a smaller scale, "City to City" in 1996 and "The Love Never Dies" in 2004.

In 2007, 3 years later, a more seasoned Paperboy is still active in the rap game. He's scheduled to mark his return early next year with a new album entitled "Read All About It". Fans can expect the catchy hooks and party grooves that put him on the map, but can also look forward to sounds of the street and urban living as well. The album has production and/or appearances from King Tee, Kokane, MJG, Jazzy Pha, and of course Rhytmn D.

In usual Dubcnn manner, we have some exclusive tracks available for download. First off we're bringing you his latest single which is a Los Angeles anthem called "I Love L.A." produced by King Tee. Next up we have another cut from the new album called "Rollin'", followed by a bonus track from the "The Love Never Dies" album called "They On Me".

Paperboy - I Love L.A. Feat. Rizla
Paperboy - Rollin'
Paperboy - They On Me

Enjoy the songs and for more information make sure you hit up his official website OGpaperboy.com.

I hadn't realized he dropped 2 records after his debut.  I still have the black cassette single of Ditty around somewhere.

thanks for the tracks  :) looking forward to the new album, it's nice to see that Rhythm D is producing for Paperboy again, i like a lot of work he did during the 90's ( but i didn't really like that beat he gave to snoop last year for TBCT though).

i want that City to city album( good g-funk album imo), but i'd probably need a creditcard to buy a 2nd hand one, since the album is out of print.
anyway, it's good to see that there are not too many people involved for the production, and that they're going back to that typical 90's sound  8)

Yeah true that. I havent heard "The Love Never Dies" album, but I guess it there's some good music on it. Rhytmn D and Battlecat did production on that one.

oh, then it seems like i need to get that album as well  8) oh well, the upside of paperboy not being so well known is that the albums don't cost so much 2nd hand on amazon.com  ;)
