cyphers is actually old school hip hop shit...when a bunch of MC's are in a circle just rapping straight crazy lyrics & they picked some real good MC's for this years show..nah, Alfa is a nobody right now...he's the dude featured in T.I.'s new single "hurt'" along with busta rhymes...Alfa is a T.I. protege...since T.i was arrested hours before these awards, alfa & busta went ahead and performed there parts from hurt and both repeatedly yelled "free t.i.p." at the end of there performance..best part was, they brought a lot of energy, good performance

Alfa did alright but Busta stumbled over his verse imo... plus without TI there it just wasn't the same.

Highlights of the show were the Duffle Bag Boys performance and Melyssa Ford. GOTDAMN @ Melyssa Ford. Canada stay supplyin yall with dime pieces.



I was weirded out that Bun B didn't thank Three 6 for the beat for Int'l Players Anthem, but its not a big deal.

Also, the nominees were wack as fuck. Every award was the same: Common, Jay-Z, Kanye West, lil Wayne and T.I. They didn't even try. Common winning lyricist was cool, but I felt that Nas deserved it more, and he didn't even get a nomination - not to mention the Roots, Lupe, and a bunch of other people. Seriously, TI, lyricist of the year? How was Jay an MVP? What about Akon, T-Pain, and Timbaland?

yea alfa did his thing, busta kinda had to stumble over his verse with all the cursing he does, but he brought a good dose of energy to the performance i thought..props 2 alfa for really really doin his thing on his 1st big performance

To be real - all Hip Hop award show suck and have sucked in recent years. The last time I saw a good Hip Hop award show (not just 1 good performance) was back in like the early 2000's when the Source awards were still relevant.
