How Record Companies Manipulate Our Minds

I Was Just Reading The 2001 Post, And I Noticed (Again) That The Songs People Claim Are They're Favorites On An Album Almost Always Are The Singles.
I Think It Just Goes To Show That If You Are Force Fed A Song Enough, You'll Grow To Like It.
Does Anybody Else Feel That? Like You Got Hundreds Of People Here Saying "Nothin' But A G Thang" Was Classic, Greatest of All Time Stuff, Etc. , But The Song "The Day The Niggaz Took Over" In My Opinion Was Just As Good, And Nobody Ever Mentions It, Because It Wasn't A Single.
Also, I Can't Tell You How Many Times I Didn't Like A Song, Then After Hearing It Hundreds Of Times On The Radio, Started Liking It, Because It Became A Small Part Of My Day To Day Life.
Anybody Else Agree?

i guess an advantage of living in Canada is that not hearing rap on the radio entitles me to my complete independent opinion haha but yeah i do completely agree with you. with a little brother that likes to listen to all the pop radio stations along with my mom i will find myself hating every new song i hear but in a few weeks i'll admit im singin along! pisses me right off!

i agree, but it depends on the fan. obviously the person who listens to radio/mtv will like the singles more, but underground heads like myself might like other tracks more instead
all down to personal taste i guess

For some reason, singles get on my nerves and I just skip through them on the CD...Maybe cuz they use Popish stuff for the single...

if i like a song i like it, somtimes i'll not pay attention to a song that much becuase it sounds like it'll be corny becuase of the begining of the song sounds a bit corny, but once i hear it i'll think boy was i wrong...but i dunno if i feel a song i feel it
usually when an artist releases a song as a single it's usually one of the best songs on the album that's becuase singles and video are 3-5 minuite commericals for an album and you want the best to be released to get the people to buy

Alot of times songs are better after they grow on you. Sometimes, on an album like 2001, the singles are easily the best songs, but after hearing a popular song so much, it helps you appreciate the lesser known songs more.

I don't listen to singles much on my cd because they usually play it out on the radio so much that it elimates it's shelf life. (forgot about dre) I pay attention to all of the songs. I don't just buy albums for singles.
